Decolonizing Imaginaries is the title of Alvaro's visual research in Visual Arts, as part of masters degree completed in 2023.
This installation is a result of a personal exploration about colonial heritage that investigates the ways ancient privileges are transcript in biographic narratives. In this original collection, four original fake money bills were created to represent a personal colonial heritage related to the domestique service, which is deeply rooted in the Brazilian common sense. This project was developed and executed in the context of Alvaro's master programme (spring 2022).
'Where are hidden my privileges?' is the title of this project and it was presented as part of group exhibition at CDEx-UQAM (Montreal, Canada) in April 2022. Photos from artist's archive.
