Prêt-à-diffuser is the final exhibition of the master's degree in visual and media arts by the artist Alvaro (UQAM, 2021-2023).
The opening will take place on December 6, 2023, at 5 p.m.
The artist is interested in the recovery and transformation of historical images and colonial archives in order to create new visual narratives in the form of posters with a decolonial approach. In addition, Alvaro offers a reflection on the stereotypes linked to the feminine and masculine genders in a queer posture. For the artist, the free distribution of prints and street pasting are part of the artistic process.

Prêt-à-diffuser est l’exposition de conclusion de maîtrise en arts visuels et médiatiques de l’artiste Alvaro (UQAM, 2021-2023).
Le vernissage aura lieu le 06 décembre 2023, à 17h.
L’artiste s’intéresse à la récupération et à la transformation d’images historiques et d’archives coloniales afin de créer des nouveaux récits visuels sous la forme d’affiches dans une approche décoloniale . En plus, Alvaro propose une réflexion sur les stéréotypes liés aux genres féminin et masculin dans une posture queer . Pour l’artiste, la distribution gratuite des imprimés et l’affichage sauvage font partie de la démarche artistique.
